Journeyman 24 brings gravel and mixed-surface riding to younger riders and families who want to venture out together. The confidence-boosting geometry is perfect for riders beginning to explore the world on two wheels, whether riding or racing gravel, bikepacking or just exploring the bikeways around town. Journeyman 24 offers smaller riders a legitimate all-road cycling experience with tires capable of mixed terrain, a wide-range drivetrain, and plentiful cargo mounting points.

The kids are alright. Better than alright. In fact, they're so incredibly talented that we had to make a bike to keep up with the insane progression the groms are throwing on the trails these days. The Process 24 pulls cues from the adult-sized bikes and is ready to rip the local singletrack or the bike park's rowdiest lines. The Process 24 gets an updated fork with the Manitou Machete J Unit and 120mm travel, making it ready for hits big and small. A Shimano Deore 1x drivetrain and brakes make for excellent control up and down the hill. Kona 6061 Aluminum Kona 7005 and 6061 Aluminum alloys are used extensively throughout our fleet of mountain and asphalt bicycles. Tough, durable, and light alloys, both Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic, reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides. Much of our 7005/6061 tubing is butted and/or formed, meaning the tubing's wall thickness can be increased or decreased as well as shaped, so we can fine-tune a particular frame's strength and ride characteristics depending on its intended application. Internal Headset Bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible. Tapered Head Tube More girth at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder, while providing confident steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control in rough terrain. A zero-stack, tapered head tube also puts strength where the load is going—into the lower headset cup—maximizing bearing durability where it's needed most. 12x148mm Axle 12x142mm, 12x148, and 12x157 rear axle standards provide two major advantages to the Kona rider: the 12mm diameter of the rear axle provides the rear hub and frame with a stiff interface, while the 142/148/157mm outer dimension of the hub allows the wheel to be quickly and properly positioned in the frame before the rear axle is inserted. Fuse Independent Suspension The Fuse Independent Suspension is designed to be as lightweight and efficient as possible, oriented specifically for the demands of the modern XC trail rider. Like all of our suspension platforms, the Fuse IS is designed around a single pivot with a predictable leverage ratio for a responsive, snappy feel. Built for our Hei Hei platform, the frame features a seat stay that relies on small degrees of frame flex rather than a pivot at the seat and chainstay junction. The result is an efficient, laterally stiff suspension system that takes weight savings to a new level.

When your trail boss is ready to step up from a 12 inch bike, the Hedgehog 16 inch kids bike will reliably propel your 3 to 5-year-old rider as they climb to new heights, launch jumps, drop stairs and maybe roll around standing on the top tube. Fit Hedgehog is best fit for riders with an inseam of 17" to 21". First time riders feel safest with their bottom on the saddle and their feet flat on the ground. That's how a child with an 18" inseam will fit the Hedgehog with the seat post dropped as low as possible. Once kids get more comfortable on two wheels, they'll want to sit on the saddle with the balls of their feet on the ground. Thus, a confident rider with a 17" inseam and a first-time rider with a 19" inseam will each ride with about the same seat height.

When your early-grade-school adventurer is ready for their first foray into the excitement of shifting, it starts with the Cleary Owl. Cleary built this bike around the drivetrain to take your explorer higher and further every time. Powered by an internally geared Sturmey Archer 3-speed hub that's activated by a buttery smooth Sturmey Archer trigger shifter. The Owl's shifting mechanism is encased in an aluminum shell inside the rear hub so it will shift smoothly with no maintenance for thousands of miles. Speed and acceleration are no problem with the 127mm alloy 3-piece cranks. Too fast too soon? The Owl stops on a dime thanks to the super-strong Tektro junior v-brakes. To determine the best fit, Cleary suggests measuring your child's inseam and referencing their size chart. The Owl is the best fit for riders with an inseam measurement of 19-23". A rider with a 21" inseam will sit on the Owl with their bottom on the saddle, flat-footed on the ground with the seat at its lowest position. At that same saddle height, riders with a 19" inseam will happily sit with only the balls of their feet on the ground. As long as a child has an inseam of 19", their arms and torso are long enough so they can reach the handlebars comfortably.
